Screenshots shared by Alessandro Paluzzi indicate that Meta (formerly Facebook) is taking a different approach than Instagram and intends to incorporate AI in ways that directly impact the user experience.
Instagram is working on tags that help users distinguish between photos generated by artificial intelligence and real ones. This feature can have a significant impact on the user experience and also aid in preventing the spread of misinformation.
The new feature on Instagram aims to alleviate user concerns about the negative effects of AI-generated content and helps identify genuine content. The social network also utilizes artificial intelligence to streamline the process of editing and posting photos.
The Restyle tool on Instagram allows users to transform their images into their desired artistic style. Another tool, AI Brush, adds or replaces specific parts of your photo in screenshots. This feature also provides a functionality similar to Samsung or Google’s magical eraser, helping remove unwanted objects from the image.
Previously, we reported on Instagram’s development of a dedicated AI chatbot, likely to have similar functionality to SnapChat’s My AI. Instagram has more plans to integrate this technology into its platform.
The public release date of Instagram’s new AI tools is not specified. However, Meta (formerly Facebook) has been incorporating AI into its services for some time and is rapidly continuing this trend. Therefore, it is expected that the new features of Instagram will be available to users soon.
